About Us
Cardiff Cycle Workshop was founded to promote the benefits of cycling through education and skill-sharing, and now boasts an award-winning workshop offering affordable bikes and repairs to the community.
We are a not-for-profit organisation and we pride ourselves in offering reliable, honest advice to all. We don’t have a shop full of stock we need to shift, so you can guarantee that the advice you receive will be the advice you need.
We’re a friendly bunch and, much like our customers, we’re all very different! Aside from our obvious mutual love for all things spokes and saddles, the one thing we have in common is our dedication to the community. We love seeing a customer leave with a smile. Scroll down to see some happy faces of our own!
Breaking down barriers to cycling
Our number one goal is to make cycling accessible to everyone in the community. Whether you’re a student needing cheap transport to and from lectures, or you want to get active in retirement, we can help you find what you need.
Our bike recycling scheme allows us to sell quality, reliable bikes for a fraction of the price of a brand-new pair of wheels, and our friendly staff and volunteers make learning bike DIY a fun and welcoming experience. If you’ve got a bike that needs a little TLC, you can bring it to us no matter the state it’s in – to us, all bikes are beautiful!
On the path to a healthier community
With more bike paths opening across the country, travelling by pedal power is easier than ever. While we want to get as many bums on bikes as we can, we are committed to doing so as sustainably as possible. This is why we created our bike recycling scheme which, over the years, has saved over 425 tonnes of CO2 from entering the atmosphere via the production of new bikes!

The Oasis Project
Recognising the independence offered by having one’s own bicycle, we teamed up with Oasis Cardiff to offer bikes and repairs free of charge to asylum seekers and refugees. Since the summer of 2015, we have recycled and distributed over 150 bikes for free.
“We visited today and picked a bike for my 6 year-old. He got to try it out and you fixed the brakes as they were a bit squeaky! Very covid safe! Excellent bike and my boy loves it. Great it has a 3-month warranty too!”

“Sustainability has worked with CTW successfully for a number of years, with sessions every month on Campus. They provide bike servicing for staff, students and the local community as part of our free Repair Café events. It’s a service to all to promote sustainable cycle travelling to Campus and the benefits of repair. They are so knowledgeable and as well as fixing on site they provide great friendly honest advice.”

“Came away a lot more confident with attempting to build a wheel. The course was run in a relaxed manner and no question was too much for Jon to answer. Look forward to my next course.”

I’d just like to say a massive ‘Thank You’ to the boys and girls at Cardiff Cycle workshop. They’ve done absolute wonders for my bike over the years! It’s was an old heavy Peugeot which I bought from new in about 1990. Although I used it regularly, it was getting too heavy for me, so the team changed the wheels for ones that were much lighter; put some super duper tyres on them, and on top of that, replaced the old hard saddle for a brand new very comfortable one. I make sure that I get my bike serviced regularly with them too. Such a friendly bunch too-always time for a chat. There is nothing they don’t know about bikes. Highly recommended!

“Great place to go to get yourself a bike. No need to spend hundreds just get one second hand. Good communication, they even adjust the seat and handlebars to suit your height etc. My partner is very pleased with her bike and it looks brand new! Highly recommended.”
