Over the Christmas period DHB clothing ran the 12 Days of Christmas competition on Strava. Each day having a different entry criteria and associated prize. Day six asked cyclists to share a bit about their cycling, their social media feeds and what their big cycling plan for the year was.
Nic said “I just wrote a pretty brief email, not really expecting to be in with a chance of winning, though I had a big ride planned, way bigger than anything I’ve done before”

On the sixth day of Christmas we asked you to email us with your big challenge of 2022 for a chance to be supported by us….we’ve found a winner that embodies our #dontholdback mantra. Alongside his Cardiff Cycle Workshop colleagues and his VeloAdventures Cardiff riding group, he has supported so many people into the sport. So we thought it was high time he got a little support of his own, especially with a 1600km audax on the agenda for 2022.

I was in stunned, to be selected as the winner of a £1000 worth of clothing is amazing, I normally wear DHB cycling clothing, as the fit is excellent and the the kit lasts really well.
So far I’ve had some deep winter bib tights which are definitely a step up in terms of warmth, especially when the the temperatures drop well below zero, which is quiet normal when heading at 6am, and some lovely merino wool jersey’s.
We’ll be catching up with Nic again before he sets off on the epic 1600km (1000 mile) self-supported Bristol-Glasgow-Bristol mixed surface audax adventure.
You can follow his training as it progresses on our Strava club feed
