I started cycling after coming out of hospital at age 8yrs old having spent 3yrs there with problems with my hips. This was the start of many adventures! As a cyclist I really took to touring; riding around England and Wales, across France to Montpellier and around Brittany. Flying the bike out to Portugal and Greece, cycling on Corfu, Cyprus and Crete and on the mainland up to the Albania border. Cycling around southern Ireland and riding Lands End to John o Groats in 1999 to coincide with the solar eclipse. My last tour was the length of New Zealand, bikepacking for 6 weeks.
I am now a Volunteer Supervisor at CCW, I have a Velotech Gold qualification and I teach Level 1 and 2 courses here. I’m also a qualified Cycle Instructor, level 3 Mountain Bike Instructor and work as a youth worker of Cardiff council.
