Terms and Conditions
1 Booking confirmation
1.1 Cycle Training Wales will reserve your place on receipt of your course fee. For postal bookings, if your first choice course date is fully subscribed, we will contact you immediately to arrange another course date. As soon as possible after you book your place, we will send confirmation to the email address supplied.
2.1 If you cancel at least two working days (48 hours not including Saturday and Sunday) before the course start time, or if a course is fully subscribed, then you may transfer to a later course or claim a refund of your fee.
2.2 If you cancel later than two full working days (48 hours not including Saturday and Sunday) before the course start time, the fee is non-refundable.
2.3 If we have to cancel a course, then you may transfer to a later course or claim a refund of your fee.
2.4 We reserve the right to cancel a course if we do not have sufficient bookings. Notification of cancellation will be issued by phone (if you have provided your number) and email at least two full working days (48 hours not including Saturday and Sunday) before the course date.
2.5 In the case of courses given at a site other than our usual training location, where our trainers are required to make travel or accommodation arrangements in advance, we reserve the right to attach different cancellation terms and conditions over and above those listed here.
3 Minimum age
3.1 Unless otherwise stated in the course notes, all trainees must be at least twelve years of age at the beginning of the course. All trainees under sixteen years old must be accompanied by a paying adult participant who will be responsible for their care during the course.
4 Prior knowledge/ability requirements
4.1 Some courses have Joining Instructions attached which specify prior knowledge/ability requirements. You should read these carefully in order to satisfy yourself that you are a suitable trainee. Participants should contact us in advance of the course dates if they have any doubts. Failure to check prior knowledge/ability requirements or misrepresentation of prior knowledge/ability may result in being unable to complete the course. In such circumstances, course fees are non-refundable.
5 Customers’ bikes
5.1 Cycle Training Wales commonly provides practice bikes for use on maintenance courses. Where use of these is recommended, should you decide work on your own bike, this is at your own risk of damage occurring or faults being introduced.
5.2 Cycle Training Wales does not accept liability during courses for any faults occurring on customers’ bikes as a result of underlying faults, misuse of tools, or misapplication of procedures.
6 In-service assessments
6.1 Cycle Training Wales undertakes to carry out off-site assessments where required, provided that the locations and timings fit in with our schedules.
6.2 Cycle Training Wales does not make a commitment to set up in-service training opportunities on your behalf.
6.3 If the location of an off-site assessment requires an overnight stay, £50 per night will be charged additionally for accommodation and subsistence. We also reserve the right to charge reasonable travel expenses (e.g. standard class train fare, £0.40 per mile driving).
